Recently Dr. Gary Graber, Dean of Packer College, brought good news to our Anglican Explorers nationwide Zoom gathering.
Soon there will be 4 clergy serving in ADOC that trained at Packer College.
Presently there are 9 studying to be priests and 3 as deacons. Two new ordinands are expected to start in the fall.
There is a new paradigm. All classes are now online. Sometimes you have to "turn your sails" to catch the wind of what God is doing. Advice from their Board enabled them to move in this new direction. Access to online libraries is also a game changer for online education.
Packer College was designed to be small, not trying to compete with large Theological Colleges. Larger colleges sometimes offer a myriad of electives. Packer is able to focus on the basics of Bible, Theology, History and Pastoral Studies.
The College is becoming of hub for many conversations about missionary endeavour, and taking the Gospel to areas where ADOC presently does not have churches.
An exciting new partnership is being explored with Bishop Dan and Artizo to extend internships and a biblical model of supervised ministry across Canada. As well, new bursary gifting is bringing costs down for ministry students.
It is hard to conceive of all that God has accomplished in such a short time through the work of Packer College.
