Recently Archdeacon Rob Stringer joined our Coast to Coast Explorers Zoom meeting to let us know what is happening in the Prairies.  Rob is Rector of Grace Church in Calgary, but assist Bishop Mike in the oversight of the other churches in that Region.
For many years there were few churches in the Prairies, but that is now changed.  Things are growing.

  • a large congregation, Christ the Redeemer in Lethbridge, has joined us with 200+ members
  • a young congregation in Caronport SK has joined our Diocese.  The community is home to Briarcrest College and Seminary.  They have a new Rector in place who also teaches at the College.
  • Christ Our King congregation in Calgary has joined our Diocese
  • All Saints Church Plant in Calgary has just completed three years under the leadership of The Rev. James Broadhead
  • Good Shepherd Calgary under Bishop Stephen and AMMiC has a new rector
  • Christ the King Edmonton has implemented a curacy and continues to think about church planting
  • Ministries in the Northern areas of Athabaska and Lloydminster continue under faithful leadership as they seek missionaries to advance the work into the future
  • Saskatoon has a small ministry under the leadership of the Rev. Segun Adebogan
  • Retired Bishop Grant LeMarquand has moved to Innisfail Alberta and works closely with Bishop Mike in visiting and supporting our churches.  Bishop Grant was previously Bishop of the Horn of Africa, and is a scholar of New Testament and Mission
Thank you Lord for the work that has gone on to build up your family and to glorify your Holy Name!
